Charyn canyon, Kaindy lake, The Kolsai lakes, and Altyn Emel National Park

A combo of these four locations in three days will impress, overwhelm, and mesmerize any connoisseur of nature. Charyn canyon coming first on our way will bring you into the antique world of creation of humanity. Kaindy lake meeting us the next will fascinate with pine trees growing from the lake itself.

On the second next day of the tour, «pearl of Northern Tien-Shan» mountains – the Kolsai lakes are waiting for us. Whether you are a fan of hardcore tracking or just like to have a light walk in the forest, or maybe you love to sail in a boat and observe the greenery inside the lake, it is all possible here.

The last, 3rd day of our tour will be completely different from the rest. Altyn Emel National Park is one of the most unique places on earth. We can literally say that it is the cradle for a human being. Mountain islands of the National Park is aged 250 to 400 million years old and its deserts were once the habitat of the hun and sak tribes. It is also home to the most distinct animals and plants. Have you ever seen the tree-like plant saxaul or a deer jeyran with a one-meter-long horn in wild nature?

Tour to Altyn Emel National Park

Altyn Emel – being the largest reserve in Kazakhstan, embraces 200 to 400 million years old mountains and abandoned deserts. According to the tales of indigenous people of that area, “lunar mountains” (aka Aktau) belong to a civilization that existed even before the Mesozoic era, and it was a home for 4 to 7 meters tall humanoid creatures who wouldn’t eat and communicate with each other solely via wind vibrations in their chest. Based on the same tellings of local folklore, “The Singing Dunes” have inherited this language, and once in a year on a particular birth day of a new moon, they start to vibrate the same galactic sounds.

Itinerary

Day 1

• 06:30 a.m.    – Gathering at the designated point
• 06:30-10:30 – Trip to the Charyn canyon
• 08:00-11:00 – Heading towards Altyn Emel National Park, driving through spectacular Kazakh terrains with one sanitary stop.
• 10:30­­-13:00 – Tracking in the Charyn Canyon
• 13:00-14:00 –Packed lunch on 00 – Driving to the benches at the Charyn Canyon.“Singing Dunes”.
• 14:00-15:00 – Proceeding towards the Saty the village
• 15:00-15:30 – A drive to Kaindy lake. On the way, there will be a light off-road and a beautiful birch grove from which the lake inherited its name.
• 15:30-17:40 – Tracking around, forth, and back from the lake, singing some songs like “Only youuuuu…” 
• 17:40-18:40 – Coming to a guest house and check-in
• 19:00-20:00 – Dinner
• 20:00-22:00 – Free time for chitchatting, listening toand enjoying the storiesnight breeze of the landlord, counting the stars which will appear to be in a distance of outstretched arm. mountains

Day 2

• 08:00-09:00 – Breakfast (Check out and Packing bags) (IF CHECKING OUT THEN PACK BAGS)
• 09:00-0911:00 – Moving towards the Aktau mountains
• 11:00-13:30 – Hiking in the mountains
• 13:30-15:30 – Driving back to the Kolsai lakesguest house for Lunch (OPTIONAL)
• 09:30-15:30 – Boating in the lake and tracking to both lakes.
• 15:30-17:30 – Lunch/Check out and late Lunch (OPTIONAL)
• 17:30-20:30 – Trip to Basshi village
• 20:30-21:00 – Arriving in the village Basshi, checking in
• 21:00-22:00 – Dinner

Day 3

• 08:00-09:00 – Breakfast (Check out and Packing bags)
• 09:00-11:00 – Moving towards the Aktau mountains 
• 11:00-13:30 – Hiking in the mountains
• 13:30-14:00 – Picnic with Packed Lunches
• 14:00-15:30 – Driving to the “Singing Dunes”
• 15:30-17:30 – Hiking to the “Singing Dunes”
• 17:30-21:30 – Proceeding back to Almaty. You are tired but you are charged with new energy for new beginnings.

Note: TAKE YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORTS. The tour duration is approximately 63 approximately 50 hours. The road is 50%/50% asphalt and off-road.
